AUBURN — American Concrete blanked Rowe Ford, 12-0, in an Auburn Suburban Little League minor division baseball game that ended during Rowe’s turn at bat in bottom of the fourth inning due to rain.

Mark Bilodeau, Alex Avila and Lee Machenry all had successful base hits for Rowe Ford. Joel Stubbs, Marius Morneau and Jake Arel all hit triples for American Concrete. Most of American’s players had an opportunity to get on base and score.

American’s Nick Martinez made a nifty defensive putout behind the plate.

In another minor division contest, Team Enefco notched its first win of the season with a 2-1 win over American Concrete in a well-played game by both teams.

Enefco was led offensively by R..J Nichols with three hits and some timely defense. Michael Potvin, Chase Martin and Matthew Scholer added two hits apiece, while Harry Bigos-Lowe hit the ball hard all night.

American Concrete had strong performances from Marius Morneau and Jacob Hodgman with two hits each and Colby Levesque, who provided the team’s RBI.

ASLL Major Baseball

AUBURN — Auburn Firefighters topped Hardy, Wolf & Downing, 16-3, in ASLL major league baseball, popping 14 hits along the way.

Pitching for the Fire Fighters were Tyler Blanchard, Noah Moreshead, Patrick Ivers and Christian Beliveau. AFF hits were contributed by Moreshead, Noah Yarnevich, Blanchard, Austin Cox and Beliveau.

On the mound for Hardy Wolf were Mason Brushwein, Devin Dumont and Jacob Dubuc. HWD hitters were Brushwein, Dumont and Tanner Sturgis.

Auburn Fire Fighters also topped Pepsi, 4-2, in a pitchers’ duel between two unbeatens Friday night at Jamie Benson Field.

The Fire Fighters scored twice in the top of the first inning off a hit by  Blanchard who drove in Moreshead, and another by Cox, who drove in Blanchard.

In the bottom of the first, C.J. Jipson singled and stole around, scoring Pepsi’s first run. Still in the first, Pepsi’s Jarod Norcross-Plourde singled and stole to third but was left stranded.

AFF’s Kyle Herald popped a deep fly ball but it was reined with a nice grab by Pepsi’s AJ Parisi in the second. AFF was able to add a run in the fourth inning when Cox doubled, stole third and Caleb Yarnevich drove him in to make it 3-1.

Jipson scored Pepsi’s second run in the fifth after tripling and being driven in on a timely single by Nate Farnsworth.

Up 3-2, AFF’s Yarnevich scored the final run of the game by stealing home in the top of the sixth.

Cox pitched five strong innings for the Firemen. Yarnevich closed it out. On the Pepsi side, Jipson also pitched five strong innings before Norcross-Plourde relieved.

East Auburn earned its first victory of the season, 12-9, over Hardy, Wolf & Downing.

Giles Paradie, Ben Cassidy, Mason Aube and Jaelen Coney led East Auburn offensively. Coney knocked in two runs with a triple. Coney also nailed down the save for East Auburn by striking out two batters in the bottom of the sixth with the bases loaded.

Mason Brushwein, Jacob Dubuc, Bobby Tremaine and Aaron Fanjoy all had one hit for Hardy, Wolf & Downing.

ASLL Minor Softball

AUBURN — East Auburn and Prudential competed in a dandy softball game Saturday morning, with Mia Ouellette delivering the key hit to give East Auburn the victory.

Prudential jumped out to an early lead powered by the offense of Karma Bell, Sara Younk and Bella Coulombe. Had it not been for some slick fielding and hustle by Lilly Bosse, the deficit could have been greater.

East Auburn rallied and tied the game on consecutive bases-loaded singles by Tabitha Charest, Madelyn Marston and Sophie Bilodeau in the third.

Prudential was able to climb back on top when Cassady Bussiere, Hannah Olcott, Taylor Newman and Melissa Paulina all delivered key hits to lead the attack. But as they had done all day, East Auburn came back.

A titanic Leah Burtchell shot got things rolling again for East Auburn, plating speedsters Madison Hopping and Lindsey Adams to regain the lead.

Prudential entered the final frame down by a run but reclaimed the lead on RBI singles by Madison Rush, Katherine Gilpatrick and Anna LeBlanc. With East Auburn clinging to its last three outs and down by a pair, Ouellette stepped up to the challenge and delivered the key hit to fuel East Auburn to the victory.

Elliot Ave.

LEWISTON — In an anticipated pitching matchup of fourth-year players, United Ambulance outlasted Elite Auto, 5-3, in Elliot Ave. Little League.

Gage Cote of Elite helped his own cause early by driving in a run and scoring after a steal of second, giving Elite an early 2-0 edge.

Cote kept the United bats quiet for two innings, giving up only two hits and stranding four. But the wheels came off in the third when United scored five times on only one hit, most of the runs attributed to the five walks given up.

Meanwhile, Jean-Luc Dostie dominated the Elite line-up, striking out 12 Elite batsmen and allowing only one hit over his first five innings of work.

Elite scored one in the bottom of the sixth on a single by Jalen Allison, who scored when United’s catcher overthrew the ball into right field while trying to pick him off first. Dostie then struck out the next three to retire Elite for good for the complete-game win.

Brock Belanger pitched three scoreless innings to finish for Elite, giving up only two hits. Elias Atkins led United batters with three singles, while Eddie Turgeon had a single and Dostie a triple for United.

Dostie finished with 15 strikeouts. Cote took the loss for Elite.

United faces off against Skelton, Taintor and Abbott on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

New Auburn

AUBURN — Poisson’s of New Auburn Little League improved its record to 2-0 with an 8-6 win over Dube Gravel of South Lewiston Little League in a major division baseball game.

B.J. Demers made his first little league start on the mound for Poisson’s, allowing just one run on one hit and two walks while striking out five. Josh Hamel and Damien Dunham each had two RBIs for Poisson’s.

Nate Osgood struck out eight in four innings for Dube Gravel, with Jeremy Madore striking out two more in relief. Nick Belanger provided solid defensive play for Dube Gravel and also scored a run.

South Lewiston softball

LEWISTON — Fontaine Family Team outslugged Patti Gagne Allstate, 15-5, in South Lewiston Little League softball.

Fontaine Family Team pitchers Eliza Beaudoin and Bree Bergeron combined for nine strikeouts in an outstanding game. Jordan Girouard and Zilphy Avery led the attack at the plate.

Pitching for Allstate was Makayla Girard. Repeat hitters were Danielle Cyr and Abby Nadeau. Defense was outstanding for both teams.
