The behavior of the Auburn City Council (as of late) is inappropriate. All too often, councilors’ individual personal agendas get in the way of the difficult decisions they have been elected to make.

Citing years of bad experience with the School Committee is laughable.

Councilors must get past the personalities and focus on the real issues at hand.

The problem is not the School Committee, the chairman or the superintendent; nor is it the mayor or the council.

The problem is that the children are at risk of not receiving the quality education that they have the right to receive.

Perhaps the next time the committee and council get together, they should all behave as kindergarten students — play nice, say please and thank you, and if they don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing.

Work together and leave personalities out of the equation.
