JAY — A memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas Hersey was celebrated Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, with the Rev. Thomas Lequin as celebrant. The processional hymn into church was “Here I Am Lord” and the Psalm was “On Eagle’s Wings.” The offertory hymn was “Be Not Afraid” and the hymn for communion was “Prayer of St. Francis.” The recessional hymn was “Precious Lord.” Tom’s wife, Georgia and daughter, Alicia Brown brought the gifts forward. Following Mass a time of refreshment and fellowship was held at Tom’s daughter’s home in Fayette. Interment will be at a later date at the family cemetery in Livermore.
