CHESTERVILLE — The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers recently met at the Chesterville Town Office to learn about edible crafts.
Rosemary Poulson presented a bread sculpted into a cornucopia and filled with flowers and bread shaped as bunnies with cloves for the eyes and frilly toothpicks for the whiskers. Another idea was making bread dough into a Christmas tree and decorating it with bows and candy.
She also brought an egg decorated tree. The eggs were emptied of contents via a hole in both ends, washed, dried, painted, dried, preserved with clear nail polish or a spreay and strung together.
Another edible craft was an ice cream cake using an angel food cake cut into three layers with ice cream between each and then topped with whipped cream.
At the May 17 meeting at 7 p.m. at the Town Office, members will choose an activity for the June Outing. They will also finalize what is needed for the bake sale in conjunction with the Chesterville Heritage Plant Sale to be held Saturday, May 21, at the Town Office from 9 a.m. to noon.
