LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay Livermore Falls Seniors met at Murray Hall on May 9 with 27 members present.

Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for the departed members and for the men and women serving in the armed forces here and abroad to secure our freedom.

Members were asked to pray for member Georgia Hersey whose husband passed away.

Shirley reported that the American Legion is still accepting donations for the flags to be placed on the hill at Livermore Falls High School from May 27 through June 3. Anyone interested in doing this can contact Don Simoneau at 897-4239 or drop a check off at the American Legion Hall, 17 Reynolds St., Livermore Falls. The flags are $5 each.

Shirley reminded everyone there are only two more meetings before summer break. A regular meeting will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 16. A light lunch will be served at noon Monday, May 23.

The 50/50 was won by Gloria Bickford. Following the meeting a successful Chinese Auction was held, and refreshments of root beer floats were served to all present.

Carol Redman and Marilyn DeSoto volunteered to be on the refreshment committee next week.

Members enjoyed cards and games after the refreshments were served.
