CARTHAGE — New England Celtic Arts will present Maine’s Irish band The Press Gang on Wednesday, May 18, at Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center.

The trio — squeezebox player Christian “Junior” Stevens, fiddler Alden Robinson and guitarist Owen Marshall — will also play on Thursday, May 19, at Unity College Center for the Performing Arts in Unity.

Curtain is at 7 p.m. at Skye and 7:30 p.m. in Unity. There will be a jam session one hour prior to curtain when audience members are encouraged to bring instruments and play with the artists for a few minutes.

Stevens has become an influential part of the Irish Traditional Music scene in America. He has performed with some of the genre’s most talented artists and is an in-demand performer and teacher.

Robinson’s innovative interpretations of traditional melodies blend a fluent command of Irish ornamentation with the rhythms and harmonies of Canadian and Appalachian music. Now a fixture of the Irish music scene in Maine, he is a respected performer throughout New England.

Marshall, a multi-instrumentalist and sought-after accompanist in many genres, is known for his unique sense of harmony and rhythm,.
