LEWISTON —The stage is set for Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre to produce “Wait Until Dark,” the fourth show of its 71st season, at Bates College’s Schaeffer Theatre.

The suspense thriller was made famous in 1967 with a film adaptation starring Audrey Hepburn. A heightened moment in the movie adaptation was dubbed the No. 10 scariest movie moment of all time by the Bravo Channel.

CLT’s original stage adaptation by Frederick Knot is being directed by Vincent Ratsavong, a CLT performer, assistant director and choreographer for many years.

CLT newcomer Natalie “Tali” Haberkamp will portray blind housewife Susy. Haberkamp, a seasoned actress now living in Portland, says Susy is by far her most challenging role to date. “Being a person with the gift of sight makes it really difficult to understand what it must be like to live day to day without it. I’m doing a lot of research to understand how a blind person copes without the sense of sight,” she said.

Other cast members are Jephthah Peters as Sam, Susy’s husband; CLT veteran Donald Libby as evil villain Roat, leader of the band of thugs; Michael Millett and Henrik Strandskov as Mike and Carlino, respectively, the not-so-bad, bad-guys in the thug pack; Hanna Perreault as Gloria, Susy’s sometimes bratty upstairs neighbor and helper; and Patrick Austin and Ben Dombrowski as the policemen.
