“The Waver,” John Wilson, sits in his Chevrolet Blazer in Livermore Falls waving and smiling to passing motorists in August 2007. Wilson died Friday, May 13, at the age of 78. His ashes will be returned to Belton, Texas, and interred at a gravesite near his mother’s grave, his friend Charlotte Pages said. Wilson was originally from Texas, was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a rodeo cowboy until he moved to Jay to work at the paper mills in the region as member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers.
