Coffee house
DIXFIELD — A coffee house featuring Jessica Hines and the Ice Man will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Dixfield Congregational Church. Admission at the door will be $5. Children under 12 accompanied by an adult will be free. Coffee, tea, soda and homemade desserts will be on sale.
Jessie Mae and the Ice Man, otherwise known as the Black Cat Road Duo, are influenced primarily by blues, soul, roots music and good old rock n’ roll.
Horseshoe club
RUMFORD — The Rumford Mexico Horseshoe Club will kick off summer play at 6 p.m. Monday, May 23, at the Hosmer Field Complex. Old friends and new are invited. No expertise needed to play. For more information, call Mark at 357-9674.
Story time
RUMFORD — The final preschool storytime for the school year will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Rumford Public Library. The theme is picnics. Following the story time, a picnic will be held in the library park, so bring a lunch and a picnic blanket. If it rains, blankets will be spread out in the public room. All area children ages 2-5 are welcome. Storytime will resume in the fall.
Class of 1949
RUMFORD — Members of the Stephens High School class of 1949 will meet for their regular monthly luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Gatch’s, down past the Eagles Club.
