BUCKFIELD — Joshua Adam Sleeper, 26, a resident of 319 Turner St., Buckfield, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, May 19.

He was born in Lewiston, the son of James G. Poulin and Sandra Lee Sleeper.

His early years growing up were in Tuscon, Ariz., but he moved to the Lewiston-Auburn area in 1995 and graduated from Edward Little High School in 2003. He then continued his education at the Institution of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, N.M.

Joshua was a unique and talented young man, whose loves included music, art, cooking and sports. He created fine and graphic art, and was an aspiring tattoo artist. He also was one to dance to the beat of his own drum, who was also a sharp dresser who stood out in the crowd. For fun he liked DJ techno music and to play golf. He was happiest in the sun. He was an only child, but leaves behind many friends who love him.

Survivors include his maternal grandmother, Gertrude Sleeper of Augusta; his mother, Sandra Sleeper of Hallowell, and her companion, Dennis Martineau of Auburn; one uncle, Christopher Poulin and his wife, Cindy, of Florida; one aunt, Carol Sleeper of Cundy’s Harbor; and one cousin, Jessica Rogers and her husband, Matthew, of Bailey Island; and Joshua’s best friend, Khiron Kinney of Buckfield. Also surviving are great aunts and uncles and cousins.
