Seniors meet
RUMFORD — Rumford Senior Citizens will hold their monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 25. The board will meet at 10 a.m. and the regular meeting will be followed by a potluck lunch.
The bus trip to Triad at Fryeburg Fairgrounds is Friday, June 24.
Networking
RUMFORD — The next community networking meeting sponsored by the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition is scheduled for noon Wednesday, May 25, at the Rumford Community Home, 11 John F. Kennedy Lane. A light lunch will be provided.
Diane Gallagher, Oxford County community educator of Safe Voices, formerly the Abused Women’s Advocacy Project, will speak about changes and programs within that agency.
Other agenda items include community updates from the Healthy Communities as well as from other River Valley organizations.

Watercolor classes
RUMFORD — Free watercolor classes will start again from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, at the Rumford Senior Center, 50 Congress St. Bring your own supplies and share your love of painting. No experience necessary.
Historical Society
MEXICO — The Mexico Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the Society building on Oxford Street. There will be a potluck supper and a grill will be available. This will also be a clean up day around the museum, so please come early to help out.
The speaker will be past Book Fund recipient, Richard Allen, who graduates from college this year.
The museum is now open from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. every Tuesday or by appointment.
Plant sale
CANTON — A plant sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29, at Heritage Park. Perennials, shrubs and berry bushes will be available.
Plants or plant pots can be donated by calling Thomas Adley at 597-2168.
Yard, bake sale
DIXFIELD — Women’s Ministries of Dixfield Nazarene Church will hold a yard and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at 171 Weld St. Rain or Shine.
Lawn sale
MEXICO — Region 9 will hold a lawn sale for the Relay For Life from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at the University College parking lot.
Sale vendors
MEXICO — The Mexico Public Library is seeking vendors for their sale, to be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, in the area beside and behind the library. The side lawn is visible to Main Street traffic. In the event of rain, the sale will be held indoors.
In addition to the sale of used books, videos and baked goods, the library invites anyone who would like to rent a table/space and sell their own yard sale items. The cost to rent a table/space will be $15 or $25 for two tables/spaces. If a vendor provides their own table and is interested in renting a space only, the charge will be $10 per space. All money taken in from a yard sale vendor’s table will go to the vendor.
