PITTSFIELD — In Pine Tree League Baseball action Sunday, the Winthrop Red Sox humbled newcomer Pittsfield, 19-2, at Manson Park.

Jim Morris silenced the Padres’ bats by allowing one hit in seven innings with four strikeouts and two walks.

Winthrop scored all the runs it would need for the victory in the top of the second inning. Tavis Hasenfus and Dave Ricker Sr. drew walks, then executed a double steal, putting themselves in scoring position with two out.

Bob Cochran doubled down the left field line, plating both runners. Cochran eventually scored on J.P. Palleschi’s single, making the score 3-0.

Dave Ricker Jr. provided the big stick with a double and three singles. Ricker Sr. and Palleschi repeated as well. Ricky Smith and Lewis Rodriques had the Padres’ two hits.
