LIVERMORE FALLS — Police were busy Sunday night, arresting five people and taking a juvenile into custody within four hours.

It started at 6:30 p.m. when Livermore Falls police were called to a local business for a reported theft. During the investigation, Lt. Thomas Gould and officer Daniel Chabot ended up arresting Jason Abbott, 28, of Jay, on charges of violation condition of release and having contact with a person he was prohibited from having contact with relating to a domestic violence case, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Tuesday.

The next call came in at about 8:17 p.m. in connection with a theft at another Main Street business, he said.

Police arrested Darin Mills, 30, of Jay and Floyd Patrick, 31, of Livermore Falls on charges of violation of bail conditions and theft by unauthorized taking, Steward said.

Gould and Chabot, who was doing some training, were riding in the same cruiser and took the men to the Androscoggin County jail in Auburn.

At 9:06 p.m. there was a report of a domestic violence situation on Park Street. The Livermore Falls police officers had not returned from the jail, so Jay officers Nick Gulliver and Mike Booker responded, Steward said.

The Jay officers spotted a vehicle in the area of Park Street. It pulled into a yard and its lights were shut off as the cruiser came toward them, Steward said. They thought it was part of the domestic, he said.

Police pulled in behind the car in the driveway and two people jumped out of the car and ran into the woods, he said.

Jay called for assistance, Steward said, and Wilton police, Franklin County Sheriff deputies and Maine State Police responded.

Gulliver caught up to one suspect, Michael Gatcomb, 27, of Fayette, after running 600 to 700 yards, Steward said.

Gatcomb was brought back to the Jay cruiser to await Livermore Falls police return from the jail.

When Livermore Falls arrived, the officers arrested Gatcomb on charges of violation of condition of release and refusing to submit to arrest or detention, Steward said.

Chabot took Gatcomb to the Auburn jail.

In the meantime, Gould, Gulliver and the rest of the officers checked around the area for the second suspect.

When she was found, Gould arrested Lindsey Pollis, 26, of Leeds, on charges of violation condition of release and refusing to submit to arrest or detention, Steward said.

Trooper Ricci Cote took Pollis to the jail so Gould could go on to the domestic violence situation. The person had left the residence. Police located a 17-year-old boy and took him into custody. He was charged with disorderly conduct, Steward said.
