LEWISTON — Jake Paris was recently named the adult services librarian at the Lewiston Public Library. He was promoted from his former position at LPL as children’s technician.
In his new role, Paris will be managing the second floor of the Library, including the reference desk, teen room and computer lab. He will be taking the lead role in developing social networking and new media for the Library and will be working with the library director in collaborating with community partners.
Paris has a BFA of fine arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art and is a graduate of the Androscoggin Leadership Development Institute and the Lewiston/Auburn Civic Leadership Institute. In 2008 he was named by the city of Lewiston as their Employee of the Year.
Paris lives in downtown Lewiston with his wife and two children. He is replacing Ellen Gilliam, who left the adult services position to take on a new job at the Portland Public Library.
