SOUTH PARIS — Lois May Corbett, 88, of South Paris, died Tuesday, May 31, at Market Square Health Care Center.
She was born in West Paris on May 1, 1923, the daughter of Harold and Martha E. McPherson Hollis. She graduated from West Paris High School, where she was a great basketball player. She married William Corbett. She had been employed at numerous factories, as well as the Plaza Laundry for Betty Hazard, and the laundry at Andrews Nursing Home. She was an owner/operator, along with her husband, at Corbett’s Market on Alpine Street in South Paris. Family and her home were her life; she loved her flower gardens.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Ripley, of South Paris; three sons, Howard (Bud) and his wife, Blanche, of West Paris; Larry and Thomas, both of South Paris; eight grandchildren, Jeff Ripley, Judy Pelletier, Melanie Corbett, Darcy Rowell, Andrea Lacomb, Howard Corbett Jr., Larry W. Corbett and William (Bill) Corbett; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, William; sisters, Sadie, Evelyn and Hattie; brother, Earle; son-in-law, Ralph Ripley; and her beloved dog, Brandy.
