AUBURN — The Red Eddie Basketball Camp is pleased to announce it will be starting its seventh summer on Monday, June 20. The camp is held at the Edward Little High School gymnasium.
Camp includes six one-week sessions and is open to boys and girls in kindergarden thru 8th grade. Grades K-6 practice from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and grades 7-8 practice from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Camp is held Monday thru Thursday each week, with session one starting June 20 and session six ending July 28.
Red Eddie camp teaches fundamentals and strategies of the game. Players will learn the basic skills and will play games against teams from surrounding communities. Players are separated by age group and ability, and playing time is equal for all campers.
Red Eddie Camp is co-directed by EL boys’ varsity coach Mike Adams and girls’ varsity coach Craig Jipson. Coach Adams is the winningest coach in Edward Little basketball history and was Maine Mr. Basketball before starring at Thomas College. Coach Adams has directed Edward Little to the most success in school history, leading the team to four straight Eastern Maine Championship games. Coach Jipson is an eight-time Coach of the Year winner who has led the women to two of the last three KVAC championships.

Pottle Hill race June 25
MECHANIC FALLS — Pathways, Inc. will host the 30th Annual Pottle Hill Road Race on Saturday, June 25, starting from town square in Mechanic Falls.
Known over the years for having a challenging 10K, the event starts with a tamer one-mile Fun Run or walk at 8:30 a.m., followed by the start of the 5K at 9 a.m., and the 10K at 9:05 a.m. The course is a hilly and scenic and mostly rural, well marked, wheel measured, with split time and water stations along the course. Refreshments will be available after the race. Registration fee is $19. Registration for the Fun Run is $5. Prizes will be awarded, including cash prizes for top male and female 10K winners.
The Pottle Hill Road Race is the primary fundraiser for Pathways, Inc., with all proceeds benefiting the individuals its serves. Pathways, Inc. is a tax exempt organization under 501(c)(3) code of the Internal Revenue Service. Donations are deductible to the extent permissible by law.
There are several levels of sponsorship, with sponsors displayed on banners, T-shirts, website and newsletters.
