KITTERY, Maine (AP) — Days after an “Open for Business” sign was swiped from the side of Interstate 95 in southern Maine, an ad has appeared on Craigslist for a “lightly used political sign.”
The donated sign was installed in Kittery in March to highlight Gov. Paul LePage’s commitment to creating jobs.
The Craigslist ad offers a recently acquired “right-wing political sign” for $1,000 that would “look great on the side of a barn, a Republican Party headquarters, or on the side of a row of portable toilets.
The ad says the seller will entertain trades for a “multi-panel mural depicting the labor movement,” a reference to a mural LePage had removed from the state Labor Department headquarters.
