LEWISTON — Peter J. Roy Jr. “ti King” of Chadbourne Road, passed away peacefully Friday, May 27, of lung cancer at his home.

He was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Lac Megantic, Canada, the son of Pierre and Anna (Talon) Roy. He came to the United States, became a U.S. citizen and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Army.

He married the love of his life, Irene Daigneault Carsley in 1964.

He loved the many businesses that he owned over the years, Roy’s Gulf Service Center, Stony’s Cafe, several apartment buildings in Lewiston, Whispering Pines Trailer Park, Table Talk Pies and Wise Potato Chips, Red’s and Dupuis Moving with his son, James Carsley, Davey Jones Treasures Fla, Supreme Limousine Service, Roy’s Trucking, Irene’s Variety. He retired three different times with the last being in 1999.

He loved to travel with his wife in their motor home. He was a member of practically every club in the Lewiston area. He was a generous man who was always a joker. He gave to the Hope Haven Mission saying, “but for the grace of God, he would be one of them.” He would give stuffed animals to the local children and entertain them with one of his talking animals.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; sons, Leonard and wife, Sandra Carsley and James and wife, Carline Carsley; daughters, Susanne Steffan and Cathy “kitty cat” and husband, Bob White; brother-in-law, Leo and wife, Theresa Daigneault; sister, Yvette and husband, Phillipe Vachon; sister, Anita Grenier; sister, Lucy and husband, Kenneth Cyr; brother, Bruno and wife, Judy Roy; sister-in-law, Laura Roy; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Pierre and Anna Roy; sisters, Therese Paduko, Rose Beaulieu, Noella Giguere and Helen Lemay; and a brother, Robert J. Roy.
