Relay For Life

FARMINGTON — Franklin County Relay for Life will be held Friday, June 3, at Jay High School. This year there are 26 teams participating in the annual event to raise money for the fight against cancer. Money raised stays in Franklin County. This year the theme is “The Carnival.”

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. with the survivor walk, followed by the dinner catered to the survivors by Franklin Savings Bank. There will be a band, clowns, a dunk booth, face painting, doughnut eating contest, tug-o-war, hot dogs, snow cones, batting cages, ice cream, fortune tellers, balloons and more.

Around 9:30 to 10 p.m. the luminary event is held. The entire track is lined with lit luminaries decorated in honor or in memory of a loved one. Bag pipes are played and each name is called off one by one.

The event ends at 6 Saturday morning.

There is no cost to get into the event. Luminaries and donations can be made on site. For more information, log onto www.relayforlife/franklinme.com.
