Racing will begin Saturday at Wallingford’s Fruit House on Perkins Ridge Road at 10 a.m., with the Category 5 men, who will compete for 35 miles. The last race will go off at 12:10 p.m., in the men’s Cat 3, with competitors racing 58 miles, making five loops on the 11.5-mile course.
During these hours, and for several hours after the start of the final race, motorists may find themselves behind groups of cyclists on the course that sweeps along West Auburn Road, Hotel Road, Stevens Mills Road, Garfield Road and then back along Perkins Ridge Road. Motorists are urged to use caution, and to heed directions of police and volunteers stationed in high-traffic areas.
