AUBURN — Funeral services honoring the life of Thomas B. Gould were held Friday from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with Pastor Mark Ring presiding. At the beginning of the service the song, “He ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” was played to honor Tom’s closeness to his brothers. Words of remembrance were shared by family neighbor, Mary Schoppe Buker. Tom’s son-in-law, Timothy Wahler, spoke of Tom’s toughness and kindness; and grandson, Adam Vining spoke of how much he learned from his grandfather and that he will be truly missed by all. Also the song “He Didn’t Have to Be,” “Daddy’s Hands” and the song, “Tell Me About the Good Ole Days” were also played during the service. At the conclusion of services, all in attendance greeted the Gould family with their own personal condolence. Then a funeral procession was formed to process to North Auburn Cemetery for graveside committal prayers. Along the cemetery route the funeral procession paused at the Gould Family Homestead on West Auburn Road, in honor of Mr. Gould. The honorary bearers were sons-in-law, Mark Parise, Tim Wahler and Woody Dill, as well as Tom’s great-grandson, Michael Dyer. The active bearers were grandsons, Josh and Ben Dill, Adam Vining, Buddy Marshall, Chris Parise, and son-in-law, Bill Vining. Following the conclusion of committal prayers by Pastor Ring, all in attendance were then invited to a reception of fellowship at the West Auburn Church Vestry in West Auburn.
