GREENWICH, Conn. — Violet N. Jeans, 92, widow of Frederick R. Jeans Sr., of Riverside, Conn., and Meredith, N.H., died peacefully Jan. 21, at Greenwich Hospital.

Vi was born in Manchester, N.H., daughter of Lucianna and Lomie Rivers. She grew up in Jay before moving to the Stamford area, where she worked for 42 years at Pitney-Bowes. Violet traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. She was a Director for Life of the Mianus Chapter of Trout Unlimited, a talented artist and member of the Art Society of Old Greenwich, the Darien Seniors Club, and the Hubbard Heights Garden Club.

She is survived by her son, Frederick Jr. and his wife, Colleen, of New Hartford Conn.; a sister, Simone Hubert of Meredith, N.H.; a niece; a nephew; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Lorraine Dell Jeans; and a sister, Laurette Krisekos.
