PORTLAND — Richard I. Fish, 73, of Topsham passed away in Portland June 6.
He was born April 24, 1938, in Bangor, a son of the late Ira and Mary (Howes) Fish.
Richard retired from the U.S. Navy as a senior chief in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 0021, Elks Lodge in Brunswick and was a lifelong member of DAV Chapter Lavallee-Garrison 15 since 1988.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Boston Red Sox, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Richard and his wife, Marie, whom passed in December 2008, enjoyed their home in Florida, spending many winters there.
Richard is survived by his four sons, Thomas Fish and his wife, Jennifer, Wayne Fish and his companion, Donna Greeley, Michael Fish and his fiance, Michelle Nickles and David Fish; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Melinda Fish; and his pet dog, Lacey. He will be missed by longtime friend, Joe Wolfe.
He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Marie (Lapree) Fish; and daughter-in-law, Tammy Fish.
