Lobster rolls
DIXFIELD — The first 2011 lobster roll supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. (or until sold out) Friday, June 10, at the Dixfield Congregational Church on High Street. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.
Chicken rolls will be available for non-lobster lovers at $6 for adults and $3 for children.
The menu will be 100% lobster meat rolls, potato salad, cole slaw, dessert and beverages. Takeout is available. Those who eat in will have a choice of homemade french fries or potato salad. Call 562-4582 to order ahead.
Texas hold ’em
RUMFORD — American Legion will host a Texas hold ’em tournament Sunday, June 12. Registration is $35 beginning at 9 a.m. Games start at 10 a.m. There will be a chicken pie lunch served at noon for $6. FMI: 369-9053.

Hereford auction
FRYEBURG — Maine and Northern New Hampshire Jr. Hereford members are holding a take-a-chance auction Friday, June 17, at the Fryeburg Fair Grounds in the Agricultural Center. The auction viewing is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with the drawing starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for 25. There will be a $1 table and a 50/50 raffle.
Members are Jessica Smith from Troy, Carrie Butterfield from Chesterville, Harrie Gushee-Kimball from Fryeburg, Raymond Gushee-Frost from Fryeburg, Alex Clark from Winslow, Meg Hall from East Dixfield, Sage LeBlanc from Dayton, and Erik and Anna Fredrickson from Wolfeboro, N.H. They are raising money to go to the Hereford Jr. National Show in Kansas City, Mo., July 9-19 to show and participate in other events like showmanship, illustrated speech, team marketing, team fitting, grill cook-off and type shows.

Snake Man
MEXICO — As part of the Mexico Public Library’s “Terrific Tuesdays” summer programs for kids ages 2-14, the library will host Rob White, “The Snake Man,” at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21.
“The Snake Man” will present a fun and informative program with his many snakes. This will be a hands-on presentation, so that participants can touch and even hold the snakes, if they wish.
This program is for kids of all ages and will be held at the Calvin Lyons Hall, in the basement of the Mexico Town Hall building.
