Dance cancelled
PARIS — The Swingin Bears Square Dance Club has cancelled the dance originally scheduled for June 11 and rescheduled for June 18. The school cafeteria where the dances are held is not available due to a school function.
Pancake breakfast
AUBURN — The Auburn Lewiston Kiwanis Club will hold its 54th annual all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, sponsored by Coldwell Banker Millett Realty, from 6:30-11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 12, on Main Street, adjacent to the parking garage behind Auburn City Hall.
The breakfast features pancakes, Mailhot’s Best sausages, coffee and orange juice. The breakfast will be held rain or shine under the big top. Tickets are available at Hannaford and Shaw’s stores for $5 in advance. Tickets are $6 on the day of the breakfast. There is free parking in the parking garage. FMI: 402-9336.
Chicken supper
MINOT — The Hebron Historical Society will hold a fundraising barbecue chicken supper at the West Minot Grange hall from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 12. Includes homemade potato, macaroni and garden salads, cole slaw, dessert and beverage. $8 adults, $4 children under 12. Takeout available.
Winsome Souls
MINOT — The Winsome Souls will be in concert at the Minot United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12.
‘Dance Out Loud’
TURNER — Sandy’s School of Dance and students from Turner, Leeds, Greene, Lewiston, Poland, Livermore Falls and Buckfield will present “Dance Out Loud” at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at Leavitt Area High School. Tickets are available at the door for $9.
Texas hold ’em
WINTHROP — The Winthrop Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Texas hold ’em tournament beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at the American Legion Post #40, 117 Bowdoin St.
The tournament is open to the public, including members and nonmembers of both the Winthrop Area Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion. The cost to play in is $55 ($5 for state licensing and $50 for the “pot”). Preregistration is required by calling the chamber at 377-8020 and leaving name, address and phone number.
Doors will open at noon; participants should plan to arrive by 1:30 p.m., and the tournament will start at 2 p.m. There will be a cash bar. Smoking will be prohibited.

Cemetery group
AUBURN — Union Cemetery Association will hold its spring meeting at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at the Durham Congregational Church fellowship hall, at the junction of routes 136 and 9. Union Cemetery is located on Route 136, Riverside Drive.
Exercise
LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center will hold a free workshop for breast cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. “Exercise after Breast Cancer: What Can I Do?” will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 13, at CMMC, 12 High St., in conference room A.
Presenter Lorri Pelletier will teach stretches and exercises that are beneficial after treatment.
Pelletier has been an occupational therapist at CMMC for 16 years and has specialized in lymphedema therapy for the past 11 years. She is currently working at Central Maine Therapy Services treating individuals with lymphedema.
