RUMFORD — A story  on a purse theft that was published Wednesday on B1 of the River Valley edition should have said Rumford police Sgt. Douglas Maifeld gave the suspect a court summons. Additionally, the tip from the woman stopped for operating after suspension led police to a white Ford Taurus owned by a man in the hospital.

It was the man’s caretaker, friend who snapped a photograph with her cellphone of the suspect’s picture on the police Facebook site. She also tipped off police on Sunday about seeing the suspect at Walmart and entering a white Ford Taurus.
