AUBURN — Hammond Lumber came out on top in a well-played Auburn Suburban Little League minor division baseball game versus ENEFCO. Hammond scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on big hits from Nathan Jones, Mack Sampson and C.W. Swasey. R.J. Nichols had an outstanding game for ENEFCO, pitching a scoreless first inning and recording both RBIs for his team.

In other minor league action; M & P Auto jumped out to an early 8-2 lead over Hammond Lumber and never looked back. Murphy Randall and Tiger Hopkins had back-to-back, bases-loaded hits for M & P during its rally. Alec Beaudoin and Spencer Morrill had multiple hits and spent most of the afternoon on the basepaths. Tim Emano, Seth Webster and Joey Gendron carried the big sticks for Hammond.

ENEFCO outlasted Hudson Bus, 10-9, in a minor division game not settled until the final inning.

Hudson was led by the great pitching of Jacob Jackson and some strong hitting by Jack Hart. ENEFCO had strong pitching performances by R.J. Nichols and Michael Potvin. Matthew Scholer, Simon Hayes and Harry Bigos-Lowe provided the big bats. Bigos-Lowe knocked in the winning run with a hard single down the line.

In a well played game by both teams, M&P Auto edged ENEFCO, 13-9. Chase Martin and Michael Potvin led ENEFCO on the mound. Top offensive contributors were Matthew Scholer, Potvin and Donte Garcia, all with three hits apiece.

Landon Morrissette’s strong hitting and pitching paced M&P. Spencer Morrill, Tiger Hopkins and Alec Beaudin also provided timely hits.

Auburn Firefighters tallied 13 hits and scored 12 runs, defeating Hardy Wolfe and Downing 12-1 in a four-inning major division clash.

The Firemen’s Austin Cox pitched three shutout innings and smashed two deep homeruns and a double, going 3-for-3 at the plate. Tyler Blanchard smacked a double and a triple, going 2-for-3.
