RUMFORD — A big-wheels tricycle race and a powder puff race were the special features Saturday at the Black Mountain BMX races.

Russell Noyes and David Viger, both 3-year-olds, placed first and second, respectively, in the 50-inch, big-wheels tricycle race, while 2-year-old Sarah Heinzon, whose feet didn’t quite reach the pedals, came in third — with some assistance from track official Gary Broomhall.

Two girls participated in the first BMX powder puff race with Diana Beaulieu finishing ahead of Kristy Murphy to win the race.

Special trophies were given to Cory Trial for finishing the race after a crash and to Matt Gagnon, who went over the berm.
