AUBURN — The 15th annual Liberty Festival planning has been well underway. A “fun”raiser event will take place from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, June 11, at Gritty McDuff’s.

The community can enjoy great music by Jay Staples and John Boucher from the band Drive performing their acoustic act, Drive Unleaded. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to this year’s July Fourth celebration.

Although the cities of Lewiston and Auburn generously share the costs of the fireworks for the Fourth, the IDC needs the community’s help funding the remainder of the event. Local businesses can help with donations online at www.libertyfestival.org.

This year the IDC will host two music venues, one on each side of the river. In Lewiston, festival-goers will be entertained by Terry and the Telstars, Elvis impersonator Rob Washington and Skosh, an up-and-coming alternative rock band.

The IDC is also planning a downtown Auburn block party with Gritty McDuff’s on the Festival Plaza. A VIP Party is being planned to thank festival sponsors at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn with a special guest band. The VIP party is open to the public at $15 per person.
