AUBURN — Guy J. Dube, 74, of 70 Blake St., Lewiston, died Thursday, June 9, at the Hospice House.
He was born in St. Agatha, May 13, 1937, the son of Alfred Sr. and Estelle Leclair Dube. Educated in St. Agatha schools, he moved to Lewiston at a young age. He was employed at the Bates Mill from 1956 to 1968, and then worked at Falcon Shoe from 1968 until his retirement in 1993.
On May 10, 1958, he married the former Irene A. Dubois in Lewiston. Mrs. Dube passed away on Aug. 18, 2003. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, he also belonged to the Jacques Cartier Club, Lewiston Senior Citizens, Sabattus Senior Citizens, and loved to play cribbage, bingo, and socialize with friends.
Survivors include a son, Roland of Bangor; two daughters, Jeanne of Coral Springs, Fla., and Denise and husband, David Chouinard, of Lewiston; two brothers, Alfred Dube Jr. and wife, Jeannette, of Swansea, Mass., and Jean-Paul Dube of East Hartford, Conn.; six sisters, Adeline Griffin of East Hartford, Conn., Matilda and husband, Paul Sirois, of Kissimmee, Fla., Stella and husband, Bill Hayden, of Whitman, Mass., Anne-Marie Dube and Odile Earl of St. Agatha and Pauline and husband, Claude Page, of Vernon, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by three brothers, Patrick, Joseph “Leo” and Philip; and a sister, Alfreda Dionne.
The family thanks the staffs of C2 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and the Hospice House for the loving care they gave Guy during his final illness.
