Hebron — The Hebron Academy Parents’ Association will host the school’s second annual “Green Sweep” garage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Robinson Arena on Route 119. The event is free and open to the public.

“Each year we have items left in the dorms that students either cannot or do not want to take back home,” explained coordinator Debi Hews, a Hebron parent. “This is our effort to recycle unwanted, re-saleable items and, at the same time, turn them into funds to help support on-campus student programs.”

Items for sale include sports equipment, clothing, books and dorm room necessities such as bedding, lamps and alarm clocks.

The “Green Sweep” sale continues the “green” theme of campus activity, sparked by the opening of the energy-efficient athletic center last year, as students and staff increase their efforts to reduce paper use, conserve resources and increase recycling.

The Parents’ Association will host the event, and any items remaining after the sale will be donated to local charities.
