PORTLAND — Patricia Ann (Nevers) Sanborn, 76, of Cumberland Foreside and New Smyrna Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Maine Medical Center, Wednesday, June 8.

Patricia was born in Norway, April 19, 1935, to Harold and Ila (Ahonen) Nevers. She was educated at Norway High School, graduating with the Class of 1952, and then continued her education at Westbrook Junior College, graduating in June 1954.

She married Dwight L. Sanborn on Dec. 6, 1958. Their marriage of more than 52 years was filled with many loved ones both family and friends. She raised three boys and her commitment and love were evident in her support at each and every stage of their lives. Pat made lifelong friends and was always admired for her ability to remember others first in her thoughts and actions. Pat enjoyed traveling with Dwight, but most appreciated the time that “Gigi” could share with family, especially her six grandchildren. Patricia was very charitable and her support included organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of Portland, Landmark School in Beverly and the church in New Smyrna Beach.

She is survived by her husband, Dwight of Cumberland Foreside and New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; her sister, Carolyn and husband, James Baker, of Norway; her sister, Cynthia and husband, Richard Milligan, of Umatilla, Fla.; her sons, Howard Scott and wife, Nancy, of Hingham, Mass., Mark H. and wife, Andrea, of North Reading, Mass., and Andrew J. and wife, Erin, of Easton, Mass.; and her pride and joy, the six grandchildren, Scott, Meaghan, Stephen, Ryan, Andrew and Nicholas.
