BETHEL — Telstar Regional High School has received a regional development grant.
The Great Strides Through Rural Education Corps grant, through Goodwill Industries, will provide funding for a liaison between the high school and its after-school programs, RSU 44 Superintendent David W. Murphy said. It is designed for students in need.
“This regional development grant is a very positive development,” Murphy said, “and it will go a long way to increasing the high school student retention rate.”
“We got this grant in large measure due to our 21st Century learning partnership with the Mahoosuc Kids Association,” Murphy said. “The MKA is a local, Bethel-centered organization dedicated to providing enriching, supportive, safe programming for children entering grades K-12.”
Goodwill is currently conducting a screening process for potential applicants to fill the position.
