LEWISTON — David Allen Walker, 60, of Lewiston, passed away unexpectedly on June 8, after a brief illness.

He was born in Portsmouth, N.H., Aug. 22, 1950, a son of the late Roger W. and Sylvia H. Walker of York Harbor. He grew up in York Harbor graduating from York High School in 1967. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1968 until 1982. For many years, he fished for lobster out of York Harbor and worked for The Finest Kind in Perkins Cove, giving tours on lobster boats and explaining to tourists the art of lobstering.

For the last 10 years, he was a cab driver for City Cab in Lewiston. David enjoyed meeting people, a good joke and cooking. He especially loved to read and was a constant visitor to the local library. He will be remembered as a gentleman with impeccable manners and a kind word for everyone.

He is survived by a son, Joshua and a daughter, Emily of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a sister, Helen Walker Borgmann of Bremerton, Wash.; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was predeceased by a sister, Jane Walker Natale; and a brother, Stanley Walker.
