Ivy Luhrs of Minot zips up Route 4 during the annual Dick Williamson Memorial Time Trial in Auburn on Sunday. Luhrs, 50, covered the 13.5 mile course in 36 minutes and 26 seconds. “The light headwind made it tough today,” Luhrs said. “I was definitely giving it full gas the whole way.” Thirty-two riders left Auburn at 30-second intervals and finished in Turner during the Maine Cycling Club race. “Time trials allow me to concentrate and focus on my own race,” Luhrs said. “I get into my own rhythm and pound away. It’s kind of a Zen thing.” The time trial is held in memory of MCC member Dick Williamson of Auburn. He died on June 20, 2007.
