Maine-ly Harmony women’s a cappella chorus returned from a competition weekend in Manchester, N.H., on a high note. The chorus’ renditions of “Java Jive” and “You’ll Never Know” were favorably judged, scoring well enough to qualify its members for the next level of competition: the international event in Hershey, Pa., in November. Maine-ly Harmony is the only chapter in Maine representing the international organization of women barbershop singers, Harmony Inc. Women and girls are invited (a great mother-daughter experience) to try this style of singing at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings at Togus VA, Route 17, Augusta, Building 205.
