DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am helping the Lewiston High School Class of 2014 with its biggest fundraiser yet. The board members have been working very hard to raise money all year but have not had very good luck. Then we thought, let’s try Sun Spots and see if the local community will help with this event.

The Class of 2014 cookout, car wash and yard sale will be Friday and Saturday, June 17 and 18, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the LHS track area.

We ask for yard sale donations to be dropped off Thursday, June 16, between 3 and 6 p.m. near the track.

The cookout will feature the Devils’ plate, a choice of hamburger or hot dog, chips, drink and dessert for $5. A $5 donation also gets your car washed.

Mrs. Waite at LHS is the head of this class. Thank you for sharing this with your readers. — Nathalye Boucher, natdal21@yahoo.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: At about 8 a.m. on Friday, May 27, I found a small, black padded case in the middle of Marcotte Street in Lewiston. I picked it up to prevent its being run over. Inside the case was an iPod with no identification.

I would love to return it to its owner if that person can give me a more specific description of the case and its contents. Please call 577-9244, no texting please. — No Name, Lewiston

DEAR SUN SPOTS: During the chaos of my yard sale at 264 Vernon St. in Bethel over the weekend of June 4-5, an old brown purse that was not to have been sold disappeared. It was not marked for sale but still may have accidentally been sold.

The purse I could give two hoots about; it’s the contents that are of personal importance. They include very old letters and postcards to my aunt, Helen Lowe. These family items mean a lot to me, I have not had the chance to read them.

If anyone has this old-fashioned purse, I would really like to get the contents back. You can even mail them to me anonymously at P.O.Box 152, Bethel, ME 04217, or call me at 357-2772, or you can leave them at 264 Vernon St. in Bethel anytime. Thank you! — Jane Ryerson, jane.ryerson@yahoo.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Will you please print the names, addresses and phone number of the ladies who do sewing, making needed repairs, hemming, etc., in the Lewiston-Auburn areas? Your column and the information you furnish in so many varieties is greatly appreciated. — No Name, Auburn

ANSWER: Here are the ones Sun Spots currently has in her Rolodex. The next letter offers another, albeit not in L-A.
