PERU — Peru voters approved the RSU 10 budget by a vote of 154-107 in the town’s annual election Tuesday.
Roughly 20 percent of the electorate also elected Laurieann Milligan, with 203 votes, and incumbent Kathy Hussey, with 146 votes, to fill two three-year vacancies on the Board of Selectmen. James Pulsifer, also a candidate for the Board of Selectmen, finished third with 116 votes.
Joe Roach, running unopposed for road commissioner, was elected with 240 votes.
Bill Hussey, running unopposed for fire chief, won re-election with 257 votes.
Peru voters passed all ballot articles except four. Turned down were:
* Article 7, by a vote of 132-135. The article would have appropriated $72,900 for town operations.
* Article 8, by a vote of 124-142. It would have authorized spending at the former Peru Elementary/Community Center building.
* Article 16, by a vote of 95-175. It would have shifted $15,000 from the undesignated surplus account to establish a capital reserve revaluation account.
* Article 23, by a vote of 110-143. The article would have established a town conservation commission.
