LIVERMORE FALLS — Residents voted 136-77 to re-elect Selectman Bill Demaray over Selectman Alphonso Barker who challenged him for the three-year term.

Barker currently holds a two-year term.

Newcomer Jeffrey Bryant was elected to that two-year term with 180 votes. He was unopposed.

Voters also approved a $2.2 million municipal budget but rejected two of the ballot questions, Town Manager Kristal Flagg said.

Residents voted 90-108 to opposed Article 33 to raise and appropriate $15,000 for the contingency fund.

They also rejected an article to increase the property tax levy by a vote of 75-122, she said.

The budget did not exceed the levy as it was, Flagg said.

The budget, factoring in the reduction of $15,000 for contingency is about $20,000 more than the current year’s budget.
