LEEDS — DFD Russell Medical Center in Leeds, in a partnership with Sweetser, will benefit from a $14,800 grant from the Maine Behavioral Health Partnership for the purchase of telepsychiatry equipment.
The grant will be used to fund equipment and support resources used to set up a video link with a member of Sweetser’s medical staff on one end and a nurse’s aide and client at DFD Russell on the other end, allowing easier access to psychiatric evaluations and ongoing psychiatric treatment for clients in the Leeds area.
The Maine Behavioral Health Partnership was formed in 2002 with the objective of providing local support and direction for access and coordination of services for patients.
Sweetser is a nonprofit organization serving approximately 13,000 adults and children throughout Maine. It is one of Maine’s most comprehensive mental health networks, connecting adults and children to mental health treatment and related support services.
