NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Dorothy (Record) Slattery, 77, of Waterford, Conn., died Sunday, June 12, at Yale New Haven Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Portland, Aug. 27, 1933, the daughter of Carlton and Bernice (Thurlow) Record.

Dorothy worked for many years with the elderly nutrition program in Waterford and East Lyme, Conn. Her greatest joys were time spent with family and being at her camp in Maine.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Slattery and his wife, Donna-Lee, of Quaker Hill, Conn., Joline Slattery of Waterford, Conn., and Judy (Slattery) Maryeski and her husband, Mark, of Waterford, Conn.; a brother, Mike Record and his wife, Bunny, of Norway; a brother-in-law, Erwin Heath of Greene; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Cmdr. Francis A. Slattery, U.S. Navy; and his parents, William and Doris (Richardson) Slattery of West Paris; a son, William Mark Slattery; a sister, Elinor Huotari and her husband, Alfred, of Fayette; a sister, Virginia Milton and her husband, Robert, of Mechanic Falls; and a sister-in-law, Barbara (Slattery) Heath of Greene.
