NEW GLOUCESTER — Newcomer Mark Stevens won a seat on the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday with 147 votes to incumbent Nathaniel Berry IV’s 123.
The term is for three years.
Stevens, a financial controller for The Liberty Group, a real estate development firm in Portland, ran on a platform of keeping taxes as low as possible.
Berry had served three years and was board vice chairman. He also served on several town committees over the years.
Gary Harriman was re-elected to his second three-year term on the SAD 15 board. He had no challenger.
The SAD 15 budget of $20,454,201 passed 599-155. New Gloucester’s tally was 242-42; Gray’s was 357-113.
