WILTON — Performers, music, food and more will once again highlight the downtown Third Thursday events.
A Wilton band, The Beaners, will perform Thursday, June 16, during the Third Thursday events scheduled from 5:30 to 8 p.m. There will also be break dancers from Lewiston and Wilton’s own Mime Time Players will perform.
The Beaners include Don Beane on vocals/bass; Austin Beane, rhythm guitar, Andy Yeaton, lead guitar; and Wayne Young, drums.
New this year are “The Taste of Wilton” and “A Gift of Wilton.” Local best cooks and chefs will share a “taste” of something special that they like to make and a business will showcase something special from their business.
A special fundraising activity is planned during the three Third Thursday events in June, July and August for restoration of the town’s Farm & Home Museum.
Participants can purchase tickets, as many as they want, for $1 for items such as a ride in an antique car, or a piece of pie. Other items might require two or five tickets.
For this week’s Third Thursday, Boy Scout activities are planned, face painting, firetruck fun and a kid’s zone.
Third Thursdays are also planned for July 21 and Aug. 18. A Downtown Business Committee, supported by the Wilton Group, has organized the community events for this summer. Committee members include Stacey Damon, Siri Stinson, Tammy Mayhew, Corey Black, Rhonda Irish, Susan Atwood, Sharon Rainey, Ray Jacques and Betty Shibles.
