DIXFIELD — The proposed $34.1 million budget for Western Foothills Regional School Unit 10 won in all 12 towns and by ratio of slightly more than 2-to-1.
Superintendent Tom Ward said he was pleased, particularly because of the difficult economy.
“I’m very pleased with the ratio, especially in light of other districts,” he said Wednesday afternoon.
The total vote was 1,632-743, broken down as follows:
Buckfield, 182-162
Byron, 12-7
Canton, 41-8
Carthage, 14-3
Dixfield, 76-27
Hanover, 16-0
Hartford, 48-22
Mexico, 167-77
Peru, 154-107
Roxbury, 18-5
Rumford, 877-302
Sumner, 26-23
The budget, which is the same amount that has been raised for three years, came at a cost of about a half-dozen positions, decreases in technology and the elimination of the middle school alternative education program.
