LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine will hold a summer-long art camp beginning Monday, June 20. Registration is open and will continue throughout the summer.

The program will be limited to 12 campers each week, ages 10 to 14 years old, and will pull together multiple genres of art to create an original film. Each camper will document their summer experience through photographs, which they will place into a self-made scrapbook at the end of the summer. The film will be written, props will be made, drawn, painted, sculpted, outfits will be created, etc. throughout the summer and the film debut party will be planned solely by campers and staff.

Campers will receive art supplies each week (with the exception of digital cameras during week one; if a camper does not have a camera, one may be ordered upon registration for an additional $60), and are encouraged to bring their own supplies as well if they are used to a favorite brand. During week one, each camper will create a personal portfolio for their work. For more information, call Jess Richards at 795-4050.
