ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Irene O. Mavis, 78, of St. Cloud, Minn., passed away on Wednesday, June 15, at the St. Cloud Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center.
Irene was born on June 2, 1933, in Lewiston, to Phillip and Olivette (LeMire) St. Pierre. She was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Irene married Joseph Dale Mavis on July 31, 1957, at Erding Air Force Base in Erding, Germany. The family lived in St. Cloud since 1959. She was employed by Fingerhut in St. Cloud for 22 years, retiring in 1998.
Irene volunteered at the American Red Cross, the St. Cloud Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center and many other charity events.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph “Dale”; children, Michelle Vinge of St. Cloud, Michael of St. Cloud, Kim Mavis of Santa Fe, N.M., and Greg (Amy) of Parrish, Fla.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brothers, Leo and Roger both of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Rita Richardson; and brothers, Ray, Robert and Phillip.
