Wilton firefighters and police grilled hot dogs for students at Cushing and Academy Hill schools Thursday. The schools’ lunch programs provided the food for the picnic and the firefighters supplied the grills and manpower, said Deputy Chief Tom Doak, left, as he finished grilling at Academy Hill School. Steve Lakin and Doak’s wife Elaine helped. Police Chief Page Reynolds and police administrative assistant Lucille Porter are in the background. Public safety members have done this for years at the end of the school year, Doak said. “We always have a good time,” he said.
