The River Valley Union of Evangelical Churches has announced that the nationally acclaimed Southern Gospel singing group known as The Browders will perform a Gospel concert at 7 p.m. Monday, June 27, at the Rumford Falls Auditorium, Rumford Town Hall 3rd floor, 145 Congress St. Anyone who loves country music will enjoy this down home musical quartet who is stopping off in Rumford on their  cross-country “The Message Tour.” The concert is free to the general public but there will be a free-will offering taken during the concert to help with the group’s expenses. This family group from Hilton, Va., consists of Tommy Browder, his sons Matthew and David, and Matthew’s wife, Sonya. Sonya originally hails from Maine. The Browders play much of their music live with Tommy on acoustic lead, David on bass, Matthew on rhythm guitar and Sonya on piano. They also write most of their own music.
