AUBURN — Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. There will be a bag lunch and bingo will be played after the meeting.
When the group met June 8 under the direction of President Helen McGuire, 38 members were present. Chaplain Pat Donohue led the group in a moment of silence in memory of Albert Cote, who died June 7. A memorial service was held prior to the meeting for members who had died during the past year with Lucy Cowles in charge assisted by Pat Records, Shirley Hawkins, Ellie Rolerson, Paula Mikkelson and pianist Leone Ford. At the conclusion of the service, Ralph Lashua played his guitar and sang a song most fitting for the occasion.
Pamela Carrier was welcomed back from her illness and the president announced Edwina Bonney had returned to Clover Manor from Marshwood Health Care Facility, and Felix Yurkston and Pat Records had both returned to Marshwood following surgery at CMMC.
Trip chairwoman Evelyn Sawin reported that she has a few seats available for her trip to Foster’s Clam and Lobster Bake in York on June 24. The cost of $55 includes transportation, dinner and bingo on the bus. For reservations, see Sawin at Robin Dow meetings or phone her at 998-4577. Nonmembers are welcome.
A successful food auction was held with Alwin Strout as auctioneer assisted by Lucien Marcoux, Leigh Whittle, Phil Cyr and John Watson as runners. Birthdays for June were acknowledged.
