MECHANIC FALLS — The Mechanic Falls Historical Society will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 25, during the town’s Community Day celebration.

Visitors can comb through some of the historical artifacts the society has on hand, including the Mechanic Falls High School Pilot yearbooks dating back to the early 20th century, newspapers, photographs and scrap books as well as assortment of period items.

There will also be a quilt show at the society building, the Old Congregational Church at 64 Elm St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Old and new quilts will be on display. Donations to the society will be accepted in lieu of an admission charge.

The Tyrian Lodge will host a child identification program on the lower level of the society building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is an identification program for children with fingerprinting and a brief video interview that is then given to the parents for safe keeping.
